I live in a small-ish town. Which is why my bike is my hero. It certainly is my most practical possession, maybe even my most prized. It takes me wherever I need to go, in most cases faster than a car would. Yup, on distances of about three miles not having to search for a parking spot and not worrying about traffic definitely makes up for not having a “real” engine and only two wheels.
And even if it takes longer than going by car once in a while, it really doesn’t. Let me explain: Say getting to the place in question would have taken 10 minutes by car, but took 20 minutes by bike. While it did take me 10 minutes longer, I also got 20 minutes of exercise. Which I then do not need to worry about later. So I may have had 10 minutes more time when going by car, but how on earth am I going to put 20 minutes of exercise in 10 minutes of time?
And now I moved to the Netherlands, the country of bikes. Yes, there is a huge smile on my face right now. I cannot wait to get one of those awesome Dutch bikes. You’ll be introduced to it, no worries. And yes, polygamy is completely ok when it comes to bikes. The one at home won’t be jealous. True fact.
How about you, are you a bike lover?

Back when I was in grade school, I love riding a bicycle but when I grew old, I forgot about it and was already scared of riding one.. :|

I love Sunday afternoon bike rides!
I wish I could take a bike everywhere! That's one of the things I loved most about Amsterdam when I visited. Hubby and I want to get bikes so we can go on rides together.
Bike polygamy? Hilarious!
I have been dying to buy a bike for awhile now! So cute!

Bikes are great. You will love it in Holland. Xxxx
what a cute post. i'm looking to move to a smaller town for a quieter, quainter life and the ability to ride my bike everywhere. there is something so special about riding all over the place with the wind in your face, and not a care in the world.
Bikes are the best. I'm a big time bike lover :)

cycling is one of the few physical exertions i will undertake, lol, but we've moved to a mountainous area.... just not going to happen. my idea of a bike ride is something nostalgic and leisurely. no sweating involved. :D
I can't ride a bike, so no, the bike is not my friend. Every time I go to the Netherlands they make fun of me. I rode on the back of one last year and it was ridiculously uncomfortable. This grandma stopped to ask if I needed help getting on the back of my friends bike. So embarassing...
My bike is my baby. i love it so much!

Your bike pretty much rules :) And it's nice that you're so appreciative of it.
I admit, I'm NOT a bike person. But I think yours is pretty.
Sorry I haven't dropped in here for a while, I've been SO behind on comments but I'm trying to be good.
I live in Sydney and it isn't really practical for me to ride around but I imagine that if/when I move to a country village in England that I will have a pretty bicycle with a basket.
